Halloween 2019 – Treats and More Treats

Spread the love

Halloween has become so much more than one scary night or simply trick-or-treating. It has become a month adventure with events, scares, vacations and of course food and drink. Splash Magazines Worldwide has put together a list of some of our favorites for the month October to help celebrate this scary holiday.

Stone Brewing wraps up 2019 with not one but two seasonal beers to welcome the long dark nights ahead. You simply can’t go wrong enjoying Halloween with either the Stone Ghost Hammer IPA or the Stone Xocoveza. The Ghost Hammer IPA is a crisp and easy to drink IPA that has a slight bitterness and what will really strike you is the lemon sorbet flavor that really makes this beer pop. The Stone Xocoveza was inspired by the flavors of Mexican hot chocolate, bringing all of the spicy and rich flavors together and then complimented beautifully with Mostra Coffee, an award-winning roaster based just down the road from Stone’s headquarters in San Diego County. Stone also provided some wonderful ways to pair these great tasting beers with a variety of food.

Food pairings for Stone Xocoveza include:
Starters: Black & Bleu Beef Tenderloin*/**, Yellowfin Ahi Poke “Nachos”*/**, Fried Pickles, Bruschetta
Soups and Salads: Fruity Goat Salad*/**, Italian Antipasto Salad, Massaman Curry Soup, Greek Lemon Chicken Soup
Main Courses: Moroccan Spiced Hangar Steak*, Grilled Lamb with Chimichurri, Dungeness Crab, Peking Duck
Desserts: Melon Sorbet, Strawberry Rhubarb, Lemon Blossom Cupcakes, Lime Custard with Lychee

It’s that spooky time of the year again and Mickey’s Deli in Hermosa Beach is excited to announce that everyone’s favorite is back- Mickey’s famous Spicy Spooky Hot Cheeto pizza! It was such a fan-favorite last year that we decided to bring it back! And who doesn’t love anything and everything Halloween themed?! Mickey’s original cheese pizza- a mix of just the right amount of creamy mozzarella and cheddar cheese for a little sharpness and flavor. Adding a touch of flare with a fun black (activated charcoal) crust, and to top it off (literally) adding just the right amount of spice with a generous amount of spicy hot Cheetos. A delicious, festive and fun way to fulfill that pizza craving and that foodie Instagram post- which is an obvious must!
